We are here with our playing 11 of the Big Bash 13 as this edition of the Big Bash League ended with Brisbane Heat winning by 54 runs in the final match played against Sydney Sixers at Sydney Cricket Ground. Brisbane Heat won their second title this time Brisbane Heat had won their first Big Bash title in the 2012–13 edition.

Big Bash witnessed many explosive innings, spectacular catches and some highly destructive bowling performances from domestic and international players of Australia and abroad.

In this list of playing 11 of the Big Bash 13, there are four players from the champion team Brisbane Heat, three players are from Team Adelaide Strikers including the captain Matt Short of the Big Bash Team, two players are from Perth Scorchers and one player is from Hobart Hurricanes & Melbourne Stars although no player is in the playing 11 of the Big Bash 13 from others team including the runner up Sydney Sixers.

Here is the playing 11 of the Big Bash 13 names with some of their stats;

Matt Short

Adelaide Strikers captain and opening batsman Matt Short scored the most runs in the Big Bash 13. He has scored 541 runs in 11 innings of 11 matches at an average of 60.11. During this period, he also scored 6 fifties and also took 5 wickets with his right arm off-break spin.

When Adelaide Strikers came to play the second match against Thunder after their first match abandoned, team captain Matt Short played a brilliant inning of 82 runs and gifted the victory to his team and for this inning he was awarded Man of the Match.

However, after this victory, his team Adelaide Striker had to face defeat in four consecutive matches, but in their next match Adelaide Striker captain Matt Short again played a quick inning of 76 runs and brought his team back on the winning track and for this inning also he was chosen Man of the Match.

2. Josh Brown

Josh Brown’s form was not consistent during the league round matches that is why he was removed after some matches and brought back in the team in the end but later in the Challenger match, Josh Brown showed his hard hitting ability by scoring the very first century of his career. Josh Brown scored 140 runs in just 57 balls against the Adelaide striker and this was also the first century of Big Bash Season 13 in which he hit 12 sixes and 10 fours.

Along with this, he also played an inning of 53 runs in the final, due to which Brisbane Heat was able to set a respectable target of 167 and by defending it with the quality bowling Brisbane Heat became the champion of Big Bash Season 13.

3. Aaron Hardy

Aaron Hardy scored 337 runs with the help of 2 fifties in 11 matches at an average of 37.11. Apart from this, he also worked hard in bowling department for his team and took 6 wickets in the Big Bash Season 13.

4. Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn, famous for his hard hitting and higher strike rate, scored 304 runs in 7 matches at an average of 60.80 and played the most important role in Adelaide Striker reaching the Playoffs, although he had to leave his team in the middle of the season due to hamstring injury after playing only 7 matches this season. Chris Lynn’s batting average remained at the top throughout the Big Bash season 13, followed by Mat Shirt’s average who scored runs at an average of 60.11.

5. Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell’s team could not do much in this season but he himself hit a lot of sixes. Glenn Maxwell performed an all-rounder performance, scoring 243 runs in 9 innings while dismissing seven batsmen on his spin, with his best bowling performance 3-29 against the Hobart Hurricanes.

6.Ben McDermott(Wk)

Ben McDermott is the wicketkeeper in the playing 11 of the Big Bash 13 team. Ben McDermott scored 261 runs in eight matches at an average of 43.50. Hobart Hurricane won its last match in which Ben McDermott played an inning of 50 runs in 35 balls. His team could not qualify for the playoffs and remained fifth in the points table with four wins.

7. Laurie Evans

Perth Scorchers started their campaign by winning four consecutive matches in which Laurie Evans played an important role. Laurie Evans scored 292 runs in 7 innings at an average of 58.40. He scored runs at the highest strike rate of 189.61 of Big Bash 13, while the second name comes of Glenn Maxwell who played his innings in the Big Bash League at a strike rate of 173.57.

8. Jamie Overton

England team’s bowling all-rounder Jamie Overton showed his bowling talent in the Big Bash League and took 16 wickets in 9 matches. Apart from this, he scored 85 runs in 6 innings at an average of 42.50. Jamie Overton left the Big Bash League due to his commitment to other league.

9. Paul Walter

Paul Walter performed brilliantly in his all-rounder role throughout the Big Bash season and played a key role in Brisbane Heat’ champion journey. He took 17 wickets in 11 matches and also tried his hand with batting and scored 99 runs and this is the reason he is in the playing 11 of the Big Bash 13 team.

10. Spencer Johnson

Spencer Johnson took 19 wickets in his 11 matches, which included four wickets in the final match and with the help of those four wickets, Brisbane Heat became the champion of Big Bash 13 and Spencer Johnson was also given the Man of the Match award in the final match for his bowling brilliance.

11. Xavier Bartlett

Xavier Bartlett took 20 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 14.70 and became the highest wicket-taker of Big Bash 13.

This time many other great performances were seen in Big Bash 13, many players showed their strength and performed well but unfortunately due to tough competition some players could not get their names in this list of playing 11 of the Big Bash 13 team like Beau Webster who gave an excellent all-rounder performance, Alex Hales, young cricketer Jake Fraser McGurk who is called up for Australia verses West Indies for the T20 Series, wicketkeeper batsmen Josh Philippe & Josh Inglis.

Apart from this, Moises Henriques proved to be the backbone of the middle order of Sydney Sixers. Ben Dwarshuis & Jason Behrendorff have also managed to deceive good batsmen with their left-arm bowling spells. In the spin department, Lloyd Pope and Cameron Boyce trapped many batsmen in their spin but still these players could not make it to the playing 11 of the Big Bash 13.
